Something I've struggled with in the past is crash dieting. I have a bad habit of thinking I can lose all the weight in just a few weeks, so I try some bizarre crash diet that's usually very difficult to stick to, and is probably not very healthy either.
I have managed to lose a few pounds here and there with strategy (usually anywhere from 10 to 30 pounds) but the weight usually comes back, and I think a lot of it is usually water weight anyway!
I've also tried a few of the more legitimate diets out there, like I've tried weight watchers (which was actually quite good) and I've tried the Zone diet, the South Beach Diet and lots of others, although these 3 are the main ones that come to mind.
But I've realized that it's much more realistic to make lifestyle changes and be patient, instead of going back and forth with various crash diets or extreme diets that I've tried in the past. Yeah some of those diets can actually be very good but for me personally, it's just too difficult to stick to them and I usually gain all the weight back because my old habits gradually start to creep back.
After all, slow weight loss tends to be more permanent, so the key I've found for me is to make real lifestyle changes, hence the name of my new blog being "my new healthy lifestyle", because that's the only real way you can lose weight or improve your relationship with food, you have to make it part of your lifestyle if you want to have real results over a long time.
